The Control Center Lead Certification exam validates that candidates have the knowledge and skills necessary to manage an organization’s programs in Smartsheet Control Center. Certified candidates can manage and modify blueprints and Control Center settings to meet organizational needs and ensure consistency in project creation, change management, and archiving.
Qualified Candidate Description
Qualified candidates are licensed users and Control Center Program Leads that can maintain and modify blueprints and their assets in Smartsheet Control Center, including intake sheets, project toolkits, and portfolio summaries, as well as configure Control Center settings, validate data mapping, and implement global updates. They can successfully manage the project intake process, provision new projects, configure auto-provisioning, and archive projects once they are completed.
Additionally the candidate should have at least 3-6 months experience with the core product and at least 3 months working in Control Center as a Program Lead.
Exam Details
- Content: 65 multiple-choice questions, 60 scored and 5 unscored
- Time to complete the exam: 90 minutes
- Delivery: Proctored exam and must agree to be recorded per the Smartsheet Certified Candidate Agreement
- References: No hard-copy or online materials may be referenced during the exam.

Exam results
The Control Center Lead Certification beta exam is a pass or fail exam. The exam results are reported as an overall score and a breakdown by domain. The exam uses a compensatory scoring model, which means that you do not need to achieve a passing score in each section. You need to pass only the overall exam. An overall score of 68 (41/60) is required to pass the exam.
Each section of the exam has a specific weighting, so some sections have more questions than others. The score report contains general information that highlights your strengths and weaknesses. Use caution when interpreting section-level feedback.
Scores specific to questions will not be reported.
Scores will be displayed at the end of the exam, and you can choose to print or email your score report. Scores cannot be used to evaluate against other candidates.
